The right packing for a Bali day trip can make the difference between a comfortable adventure and a sweaty, unprepared experience. Here is what to put in your day bag when heading out with your private driver.
Sun protection is essential: high SPF sunscreen (reef-safe for beach visits), a hat, and sunglasses. Bali sun is intense, even on cloudy days. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.
Clothing layers: wear light, breathable clothing and bring a light jacket or wrap for mountain areas (Kintamani, Bedugul) where temperatures drop. For temple visits, shoulders and knees must be covered.
Water and snacks: while your driver provides bottled water, bring a refillable water bottle for temple walks and waterfall treks. Pack some energy bars for between stops.
Electronics: fully charged phone, power bank, camera, and waterproof phone case for waterfall visits. The car has phone chargers, but having a power bank ensures you never miss a photo opportunity.
Other essentials: small towel for waterfall swims, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, Rp 50.000-100.000 in small bills for entrance fees, and a sarong for temple visits (though your driver usually carries spares).
